$120 million Illumina to light up Toowong
Queensland developer Property Solutions, in collaboration with partners Chiwayland, will bring forward the launch of the $120 million Illumina tower at Toowong as early as this month (July) off the back of strong early inquiry. The 221-apartment building is attracting interest from a mix of local, national and overseas buyers.Property Solutions joint managing director Kevin Miller said a high level of interest since the project was approved last September pointed to strong demand for high quality apartment product in the city’s inner north-west.“Toowong is one of Brisbane’s sought after dress circle suburbs which in itself is a driver of much of the inquiry to date,” said Mr Miller.“Proximity to the CBD is key for young professionals, while access to the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus is appealing to investors or parents looking to base their children near one of the country’s best tertiary institutions.“The quality of the residential offering complements Illumina’s blue chip location and is really hitting the mark with discerning prospective buyers.”Illumina’s 21 levels will rise on a site at the corner of Lissner and Jephson streets in the heart of Toowong, affording sweeping city and river views from level five and up.Apartments will feature one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus study, and various designs of two- and three-bedroom layouts. The building will include ground level retail space for café, deli and boutique retail operators.A skydeck with infinity-edge pool, entertaining spaces and an open-air cinema will sit atop the building.Illumina is set for completion in 2017 and is the first Australian foray for Chiwayland, part of the Chiway Holding Group conglomerate.Chiwayland holds the premier position in China’s real estate industry and is involved in residential and commercial development throughout the country, including affordable housing, office buildings and education hubs.Property Solutions, which has been established in Brisbane for two decades, is a market leader in urban renewal projects across Southeast Queensland and has a workbook of more than 150 completed projects. The group is responsible for a number of Brisbane’s major mixed-use development projects, including the acclaimed Centro on James Street project - regarded as one of Brisbane’s most successful urban renewal projects - the $350 million SW1 development in South Brisbane and more recently The Barracks, a $150 million mixed use and entertainment precinct in Paddington. It is currently developing the $270 million Circa Nundah Village and $55 million Arbour apartments in Chermside.
