Allure launches luxury $90 million seashell-inspired project to market in Australia's hottest beachfront precinct

A new level of luxury beachfront apartment living with an elegant, sculptured modern design inspired by a seashell is set to rise at Burleigh Heads, Australia’s most sought after beachfront precinct.

The launch by Gold Coast development company Allure Property Corporation of its 88 Burleigh project brings a new residential architectural benchmark to one of the city’s most beloved and iconic strips of sand and surf.

With uninterrupted, never to be built out views of the Burleigh Heads beach and its famous point break, the latest offering from Allure is its most inspired and exclusive so far.

The $90 million development will comprise a 17-level tower with 31 spacious residences that enhance and exude the casual sophistication, ambience and style of its prime beachfront position along The Esplanade.

Designed by award-winning architectural firm DBI to create a real sense of exclusive, contemporary living with the owner-occupier in mind, 88 Burleigh will comprise no more than two apartments per floor, each offering over 200sqm of living space to residents.

It’s the only exclusive, owner-occupier product currently in the Burleigh Heads market in what is one of Australia’s hottest beachfront precincts.

Full-floor sub-penthouses will be among the Gold Coast’s most stunning sky homes each spanning more than 400sqm. On level 17, topping the development, 88 Burleigh’s sprawling penthouse is set to become one of the city’s most breathtaking and sought-after seaside addresses.

Apartment prices start from north of $2 million.

All the lower-level apartments feature three bedrooms, and the upper-level sub-penthouses have four bedrooms. Each apartment’s lobby opens directly on a sky garden forming a vertical green spine on its northern and southern facades.

The use of full-height windows and operable panels across all the living areas is designed to optimise the panoramic ocean views, bathe the residences in natural lighting and take advantage of sea breezes by facilitating cross ventilation.

DBI Director Raith Anderson, part of design team that has been shaping the Gold Coast’s ever-changing skyline for more than 40 years, says 88 Burleigh has been imagined as a “living and breathing extension of the beautiful beachfront location”.

“The project has elegant clean lines and glazing dialogue with the crafted sculptural spine running along the beach façade reminiscent of a Turridae eroded by the sea breeze, which has been directly inspired by Burleigh’s coastal DNA,” said Mr Anderson.

Its beachside façade draws its inspiration and takes its form from the internal structure of a Turrid shell, stylishly connecting 88 Burleigh with its coastal surrounds and the elements that have shaped it.

88 Burleigh is the latest of a variety of outstanding, design-focused residential and commercial developments undertaken by Allure on the Gold Coast in recent times.  It is expected to draw interest from local downsizers seeking a superior ‘sky home’ lifestyle and tap into the booming demand for Gold Coast property from interstate buyers.

Mr Anderson said the design of the development and use of timeless materials reflects Burleigh Head’s established natural palette and the famed sophisticated beach lifestyle.

“The base of the building showcases cascading subtropical seaside landscaped terraces and a sculpted scalloped planted awning which extends the vertical green spine all the way to the luxuriant landscaped ground floor and lobby,” said Mr Anderson.

“The walls and planters are clad with travertine and the ground level meandering landscaped pathways are covered with natural stone, complementing the clean design of the tower and offering an additional layer of sophistication.

“Expansive glass facade with sliding glass screens and feature curved panels provide uninterrupted beach views to the residents while providing comfortable, well protected indoor and outdoor living spaces all year.”

Adding to 88 Burleigh’s abundant amenity, a boutique residents club on the ground level with lounge, kitchen and bar facilities as well as double beach shower will enable residents and their guests to relax and soak up Burleigh’s beach lifestyle.

The development’s premium location on an 809sq m site fronting The Esplanade conveniently positions it within walking distance of everything Burleigh Heads has to offer, from its iconic beach to trendy James St shopping, dining and café precinct as well as the proposed new light rail station.

Syd Walker and Bruce Goddard, of leading Queensland marketing agency Place Projects, have been appointed as the project marketing team for 88 Burleigh.
