Celebrate the Chinese New Year at Sanctuary Cove
Sanctuary Cove’s Marine Village will welcome in the 2014 Chinese New Year with three days of traditional festivities beginning January 31 in celebration of the Year of the Horse.The Tourism Confucius Institute at Griffith University will host an array of free family activities in The Marine Village, incorporating traditional Chinese entertainment including lion dancing, chopstick competitions, Chinese New Year singing, lantern decorating, calligraphy and much more.The weekend’s Chinese New Year Performance Spectacular on show on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons will showcase the unique culture through a traditional display of lion dancing and kung fu.The Marine Village’s Dragon Cove restaurant will be at the centre of the celebrations during the three days, hosting traditional festivities and commemorating the event with a special Chinese New Year menu.In addition, Corker Cellars at Sanctuary Cove Tavern will be designing an Asian-inspired menu and offering matching wines with tastings between 4pm to 7pm each day of the festival.For a lucky beginning to the New Year, Sanctuary Cove invites all visitors to complete a registration form at the event for a chance to win a $250 Marine Village voucher to spend at their leisure.For more information on Chinese New Year’s celebrations at Sanctuary Cove’s Marine Village visit www.sanctuarycove.com/events/chinese-new-year-celebrations
