Construction fast-tracked at $650m Serenity Cove
Serenity Cove, a $650 million masterplanned community in the Gold Coast’s booming north, is stepping up construction of new stages following a sell-out of the latest land releases.Tenders have been called for construction of a further 95 lots to meet the dwindling supply of prime waterfront land in the Gold Coast’s popular Hope Island precinct.Demand has been driven largely by a wave of local buyers eager to snare waterfront lots in one of the Coast’s few developments offering the security of a navigation lock. The $5 million lock linking Lake Serenity with major Gold Coast waterways provides a haven for boaties with full marine amenities including plans for a central marine village.“Serenity Cove has experienced an incredible level of interest in recent months,” said marketing agent Christopher Jones, Principal of Savills.“Local buyers have been very prominent in the mix, largely because there are now very few opportunities to buy in masterplanned communities at Hope Island.“We’re pleased to report that work is currently under way on the next release, which will include a number of absolute north-facing blocks.”The new lots will be released to the market in coming months, ahead of first-stage Serenity Cove buyers moving into their homes early in the new year. The new release will be priced from $495,000.Serenity Cove has proved popular with local buyers downsizing out of Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island, keen to build a modern home in a new gated community.“Many of our buyers have been looking to update their lifestyle, while not giving up the benefits that true waterfront living offers,” said Mr Jones.Serenity Cove also offers extremely low body corporate rates from $28 a week, which compare with charges of between $250 and $450 per week in some masterplanned communities.“Locals have really embraced the value and the privacy of Serenity Cove,” said Mr Jones.“It is a very secure community where there are no jet skis or other annoying watercraft to bother homeowners, thanks to the security provided by the lock.“This makes for a much quieter lifestyle more tranquil living environment and our buyers are recognising this.”Mr Jones said road construction work is currently being completed ahead of the new stages being released.Under the masterplan, Serenity Cove will ultimately comprise a mix of 450 apartments, townhomes and freestanding homes, as well as a mini-marina with a stunning 3800sqm retail and dining precinct fronting Lake Serenity. The community, which borders Oyster Cove and Hope Island Resort, is considered the final piece of the Hope Island masterplan and will deliver a new marine hub featuring luxury homes and designer apartments with water views.More than a third of the Serenity Cove site, or about 27ha, is dedicated as a nature reserve while a further 10ha will become parkland. Just 19ha of Serenity Cove will be developed.Serenity Cove is being developed in a joint-venture partnership between Malaysian multi-nationals Sime Darby and Brunsfield International Group.Visit the Serenity Cove sales office on Helensvale Road (opposite Sabrina Avenue), Helensvale, which is open each day from 10am to 4pm.
