Council approval paves way for new level of luxury for Bulimba riverfront
Thedeveloper behind the unique and iconic Gold Coast project “123OBR” has takenits keen eye for design to a new level in Brisbane, receiving DA approval for anew, luxurious boutique residential development on the riverfront in Bulimba.
Theplans come on the heels of the developer’s recent launch of the Broadbeachlandmark which will see the creation of a ‘vertical village’ beach houseconcept on the Gold Coast.
Itsplans for the Bulimba waterfront have lifted the pace of projects currently underway by the design-led company.
Bottega, headed by Louis Mennes and Nick Malloch, has crafted a unique form for theBulimba development with a distinctive nautical theme that will deliver nineexclusive residences for the site located at 69 Byron Street.
Thedevelopment will comprise two buildings, one of four storeys and the other of threestoreys, with each connected by open walkways.
Thefour-storey building will be topped by a unique rooftop resort for residents, the first to be approved in the area.
Bottegasays the design for 69 Byron is inspired by the combined elements of aluxurious boathouse, evident from the waterfront elevation, and a Queenslandertreehouse as visualised from the streetfront entry statement.
The69 Byron development features floor-to-ceiling glass exteriors, with theriverfront building complemented by curved edges for each floor, visually presentingas the stern of a boat.
“Wedeliberately pushed the boundaries of design with the boathouse influences to comeup with an interpretation that both complements the natural setting and laysthe foundation for an exclusive residential address,” said Mr Mennes.
“Thedesign works in concert with a series of garden retreats throughout and, withthe inclusion of the rooftop activation, we have created an intimate blend ofshared and private spaces to enhance the living environment.
“We’reproud of the design which we believe perfectly integrates these themes toproduce an elegant interpretation of luxurious living by the river.
“We’realso pleased that design excellence has been identified as a key element of ourproposal and it’s encouraging to see the council supporting great designoutcomes.”
Bottegatakes a bespoke approach to project design by collaborating with artists, craftspeople, designers, architects and master builders to create developmentsof distinction.
Justa few weeks ago, Bottega officially launched its debut apartment project“123OBR” to the market spanning 17-storeys and featuring 14 luxury whole floorapartments topped by a two level penthouse and a whole floor resort deck at themidway point of the tower.
The123OBR project on the Gold Coast is inspired by the traditional beach house andalso is infused with a nauticaltheme featuring a unique slab extension of the balcony inspired by the bow of a ship. Bottega plans to create asignature silhouette in the Broadbeach skyline with this project that itdescribes as a vertical village of beach houses.
After securing development approval last year, Bottega willstart construction of 123OBR this year.
With development approval now granted, construction of the 69 Byron development at Bulimba is also expected to start in late 2021.
