David Malouf of Highland Double Bay transacts over $22 million in prestige property in just two days

Two sales by Sydney’s agent David Malouf, of Highland Double Bay Malouf, have underpinned the ongoing strength of Sydney’s prestige market with two properties transacting for over $22 million in just two days.

The sales include a harbour fronting mansion at 629 New South Head Road, Rose Bay, which spent just two weeks on the market, setting a new street record and an exquisite apartment on the doorstep of the Sydney Harbour at East Crescent Street, McMahons Point.

“It’s a remarkable outcome for Highland Double Bay Malouf, and is a testament to the calibre of properties our clients are entrusting to us, and the results we are able to deliver for them,” said Mr Malouf.

“Prized properties such as these do not have a long shelf life – in fact, they’re disappearing almost as soon as they’re listed, which is a great example of the strength of the market.

“Buyers are realising they need to act fast to keep up with the insatiable appetite for waterfront luxury – an appetite that appears to be increasing in recent months.”

The grand family estate on the banks of the Rose Bay harbour occupies a widely recognised sprawling approx. 900sqm corner block of land, and features two separate wings, an additional one-bedroom self-contained cottage/guest house plus an incredibly rare potential for substantial income by continuing the current owner's childcare business.

“The Rose Bay estate attracted and unprecedented level of interest, which isn’t surprising given it’s pristine location, design and added income potential. However, the speed with which it was snared from the market is something I’ve never seen before,” said Mr Malouf.

Across the harbour, Mr Malouf fielded strong interest in the three-bedroom East Crescent Street apartment which is home to some of Sydney’s most spectacular panoramas across the harbour and city skyline.

“The views offered by this apartment were nothing short of spectacular. Perched at the very tip of McMahon’s Point with the Sydney Harbour Bridge a focal point through every space, it was one of those rare gems that causes a stir from the moment it’s made available,” said Mr Malouf.

The $22 million plus blitz comes as the latest landmark result to be secured by the Highland Double Bay Malouf team, which has emerged as one of Sydney’s most experienced independent property agencies, having undergone a recent merger between industry veterans Bill Malouf, David Malouf and David Highland.
