First home owners fly into Lakeside

The $100 million Halcyon Lakeside over 50’s community at Bli Bli has welcomed its first home owners as construction of the 231-home project powers ahead.Situated just minutes from the town centre of Bli Bli, the geographical centre of the Sunshine Coast, Halcyon Lakeside sits on a lakefront site within the masterplanned Parklakes 2 development.New home owners Ruth and Phil Craven, who landed on the doorstep of their new home via helicopter, are among the first to move in after a visit to nearby Halcyon Landing sold them on the Halcyon lifestyle. The Peregian Springs couple had been discussing moving to an over 50s community for some time but hadn’t found a suitable area that catered to their specific wants and needs, says Mrs Craven.“We absolutely loved the look and design of the homes when we visited Halcyon Landing; when we saw how beautifully maintained a completed community was, we knew we wanted to call Halcyon home,” she said.“We have purchased a lakefront home - we love the proximity to the water.”Community spirit was another major drawcard for the Cravens, who are moving from an area predominantly occupied by young families.“We are so excited to be moving into a community with people our own age who have similar interests and hobbies,” Mrs Craven said.“We already know about 30 fellow Halcyon home owners, many of whom we go to social events with on a regular basis so that made the transition much easier for us both.“We feel Halcyon has certainly lived up to its reputation of building the community before the homes.”Halcyon Lakeside project director Chris Carley said home owners were eager to move in and take advantage of the community’s great location within the Parklakes 2 masterplannned community.“Now we have homes built and the magnificent lakes complete, people can really see how special this residential environment is which is why our sales have been so strong” he said. The over 50’s community will be progressively welcoming more home owners over the coming months with more than 100 expected to move in between now and Christmas.Halcyon Lakeside is the third Sunshine Coast project for the over 50’s developer after its first two communities, Halcyon Landing in Bli Bli and Halcyon Parks in Caloundra, sold out.Homes within the community are priced from $419,000 to $679,000 and range in size from 140sq m to 298sq m.Halcyon Lakeside has seen 70 sales totalling $40 million so far in 2016, drawing interest locally and from across Australia.
