First tenant commits to The Base

The latest addition to CBDRobina’s burgeoning office market, The Base, has signed its first tenant ahead of construction commencing on the highly anticipated Gold Coast project. In a vote of confidence in the $25 million development and in CBDRobina’s business hub, commercial law firm Radcliff Taylor Lawyers has committed to a 360sq m space at The Base. The firm, presently based in CBDRobina’s Eastside building, secured The Base space to satisfy its ongoing rapid expansion.Radcliff Taylor Lawyers legal director Corey Radcliff said CBDRobina’s proximity to other businesses, government agencies and major transport infrastructure in the area had helped the practice flourish.“The firm has grown by more than 30 per cent each year since we established in Robina in 2008 so we are in the fortunate position of planning to accommodate that continued expansion,” he said.“Our initial belief in the growth potential and popularity of Robina for new and national businesses has certainly come to fruition and we’ve seen our company go from strength to strength as a result.Radcliff Taylor Lawyers' New York loft-style space unique to The Base will sit adjacent to CBDRobina’s iconic office tower The Rocket. The tenancy will have north-easterly views across Lake Lido and is more than three times the size of Radcliff Taylor’s existing space in Eastside.Launched earlier this year, The Base is the only new commercial office project in Gold Coast City and the latest instalment in what has been a highly successful series of commercial projects for developer Robina Projects Australia. It follows in the footsteps of RPA’s fully leased Campus Alpha and landmark project The Rocket and will deliver approximately 4000sq m of premium commercial space on a 2389sq m site.RPA general manager Hylton Slater said the company made the decision to push forward with The Base on the back of dwindling office vacancy in the highly popular CBDRobinaprecinct.“We have received strong levels of enquiry and positive feedback for The Base,” said Mr Slater.“Having a quality corporate tenant commit to a lease so early in the development timeline, with others also in negotiation is very encouraging.”“With all of The Rocket street exposed spaces now occupied by commercial services, we expect there to be a high level of demand for the street level spaces at The Base, which adjoins The Rocket forecourt.”Construction of The Base is anticipated to commence this financial year, with a 12 month construction period.
