Green light for Vantage as Rayjon reveals Royal Pines vision
Long established Gold Coast developer Rayjon Group is poised to start construction of a spectacular $200 million apartment project in Benowa after receiving full council approval.Known as Vantage Royal Pines, the 357 apartment, six-building development will rise on a 2.4ha site near the junction of Ross Street and Ashmore Road when construction starts in coming months.Rayjon Group managing director John Hembrow said the company was looking forward to realising its vision for the site, which is part of a larger parcel purchased by Rayjon in 2006.“We are delighted with the approval and as a company we are in a position to push ahead with Vantage immediately,” Mr Hembrow said.“We intend to undertake site works and commence marketing this year to create what we believe will be a wonderful asset for the area.“It will be a staged development that will be constructed according to market demand.”Vantage Royal Pines forms a significant component of the transformation of the Royal Pines precinct, which is also being driven by RACV’s multi-million dollar transformation of Royal Pines Resort Hotel and Spa.The Royal Pines Golf Course - home to the Australian Ladies Masters and the Australian PGA - is also undergoing an extensive upgrade, as is nearby Metricon Stadium ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.Coles has also received development approval to build a supermarket on the parcel adjoining the Vantage site.“In conjunction with Coles, we will be building a modern horizontal mixed-use development that will complement the transformation already underway in the precinct,” Mr Hembrow said. The strategically placed development site has strong traffic and public transport links, centrally located with ease of access to the coastal strip and the M1 Motorway.Rayjon and Coles are contributing approximately 3,500 sqm of land to the State Government to help facilitate the planned upgrade of the intersection of Ross Street and Ashmore Road.Vantage Royal Pines will include a range of two and three-bedroom apartments as well as an extensive central green space and recreation hub for residents including pool, gym, community/media rooms and barbecue facilities.Apartments will feature north easterly aspects with golf course and hinterland views. The Burleigh-based Rayjon Group has a strong track record of successfully delivering projects in south east Queensland and currently holds development sites at Benowa, Burleigh Waters, Bundall, Eagleby, Hope Island and Tamborine Village. The company has been a major developer and landholder in south east Queensland since 1976 and has a diverse portfolio of projects including commercial, retail, hospitality, residential and mixed use developments in the region.Among Rayjon’s key projects is Treetops Plaza at Burleigh Waters, which the company plans to transform into a $500 million village-style mixed-use hub to be ultimately rebranded as Urbia Burleigh.Rayjon’s track record of successfully delivered projects, including more than 1000 residences in the Burleigh-Miami region, is underpinned by principles of strongly focused management, flexibility and long term strategic planning.
