Halcyon unveils a Hope Island Vision
Over 50s lifestyle community developer Halcyon has revealed plans for its most prestigious project to date on a trophy waterfront site in the heart of Hope Island on the Gold Coast.Named Vision by Halcyon, the $60 million community will be the developer’s second Gold Coast project and follows on the success of the now sold-out Halcyon Waters, also at Hope Island. The project will take the Halcyon brand to a new level with an approved 52-berth marina, a selection of waterfront dwellings and all of its luxurious homes boasting eight-star energy ratings.Vision by Halcyon will comprise 88 dwellings on a 4.9 hectare site fronting the Hope Island Canal on Grant Avenue.Halcyon is capitalising on the parcel’s water frontage by including the marina, which has deep-water access via the nearby Coomera River, and a floating boathouse with function and storage space. The development will be anchored by Halcyon’s hallmark lifestyle and aquatic precinct featuring a wide range of health and wellbeing facilities.Halcyon joint managing director Bevan Geissmann said he and business partner Paul Melville had decided to push ahead with Vision by Halcyon following completion of the 227-site Halcyon Waters.“The success of Halcyon Waters has proved that we have a sought after product in a wonderful location that meets the increasingly sophisticated needs of the over 50s buyer,” he said.“Halcyon Waters’ final home was the flagship Paragon residence which sold off the plan for more than $1.1 million.“It was a way for us to test the waters at the very top of the over 50s market and the result gave us the confidence to take our next venture to a new level of prestige.“Vision by Halcyon will epitomise our points of difference for the lifestyle-oriented retiree while setting a new benchmark for over 50s living.“It will embrace the Hope Island marine lifestyle with all home owners able to use the marina regardless of whether they own a waterfront home.”Hope Island Councillor and city planning chair Cameron Caldwell congratulated Halcyon on citing the Sickle Avenue Bridge as a win for the developers.“The completion of the Sickle Avenue Bridge project unlocked a significant parcel of land which will now be home to Vision,” he said.“Halcyon are great visionaries and talented developers who are creating great communities for over 50s on the Gold Coast.“It’s certainly a market that needs to be addressed as our population ages, and we wish them well.”Mr Geissmann said construction of Vision by Halcyon would commence shortly with the first of four stages starting this month. He expected a large amount of interest from the surrounding area, including waterfront residents who want to downsize without losing their access to water and boating.“We believe about 40 per cent of buyers will be from elsewhere in Queensland and interstate,” he said.Buyers will have a choice of new home designs including a new split-level dwelling as well as the most popular and proven configurations from the Halcyon Waters and Halcyon Landing communities. The first release of 21 homes will include a mix of waterfront and non-waterfront lots with a variety of single, double and split-level layouts.Vision by Halcyon’s lifestyle and aquatic precinct will comprise two buildings; a leisure club with a fitness centre, pool, spa, yoga room, media and massage room, multi-purpose room, kitchen, dining facilities and waterfront alfresco lounge area; and a floating boat house with boat storage and a function space.Vision by Halcyon homes will start at around $500,000 rising to $1.25 million for expansive waterfront dwellings.Halcyon does not charge exit or deferred management fees and buyers do not pay stamp duty on their purchase.Home owners pay a fixed weekly fee indexed to the Consumer Price Index which covers all running and management costs, as well as water and rates charges.
