Highland assault on prestige waterfront sales continues

An independent Sydney real estate agency has barrelled its way through consecutive sales records, cementing itself as the dominant prestige property agent among the high-end Sydney marketplace.

Highland – in conjunction with its Double Bay arm, Highland Double Bay Malouf – has notched its way into the prestige record books with three back-to-back record smashing transactions along the southern waterfront precinct.

The latest record to topple at the hands of the Highland group was the $9.5 million sale of 16a Kurramatta Place, Cronulla – marking the highest price paid for a tidal waterfront property, surpassing the standing high-water mark of $6 million.

The immaculate waterfront home was bombarded with interest from prospective buyers, attracting over 300 enquiries with a large portion coming from buyers outside the Sutherland Shire.

“We were overwhelmed with interest for this prized property, with many buyers lured from afar by the rare shot at waterside luxury” said David Highland, CEO of Highland.

Home to five bedrooms, a self-contained boathouse, and spectacular views over the glistening waters of Gunnamatta Bay, the home showcases a flawless execution of architectural and interior design over two awe inspiring levels.

The sale was facilitated by Highland agents Mitchell Wynn and Laura McKay and comes just a week after the company shattered both the Burraneer and Sutherland Shire sales records with the $20 million sale of 333 Woolooware Road, Burraneer.

The property was one of the last remaining street-to-waterfront estates on Burraneer Peninsula and more than doubled the standing $9.1 million suburb record, also set by Highland in August 2020.

“To have facilitated not one, but numerous record-breaking sales in a matter of months, really underpins the unprecedented show of market confidence among Sydney’s prestige property sector,” said Mr Highland.

“Results like these are a testament our depth of experience and our extensive database of qualified buyers. We are the most dominant prestige agent at a Sydney level and we intend to continue driving impressive results for our clients as we progress our strategic expansion across key markets,” said Bill Malouf of Highland Double Bay Malouf.

Highland Double Bay Malouf has welcomed a slew of high-end sales over the past few months which include the dual-level apartment 1/44 New Beach Road, Darling Point, overlooking Rushcutters Bay, which sold with a price guide of $16.5 million, and a spectacular eight-bedroom home with uninterrupted ocean views at 42 Gardyne Street, Bronte, which sold with the price guide of $22 million.
