Leda Set To Release First Lots At Kings Forest Providing Relief To Housing Shortage
Almost 150 lots at the Kings Forest housing estate will be released in coming months, triggering the start of the long-awaited 4500-lot Kings Forest housing estate near Kingscliff on the NSW North Coast.
Leda Holdings Chairman Bob Ell said the estate would play a role in delivering new housing supply in a region where there was very little stock, but high demand for affordable residential product.
“Housing supply has been at an all-time low, and the cost of living is putting a strain on people, not only in the Tweed but nationwide,” Mr Ell said.
"This significant stride towards addressing housing needs in Tweed is exciting. By working hand-in-hand with the Tweed Shire Council, we're not only on the brink of providing more housing options but also poised to create thousands of local jobs. This milestone marks just the beginning, we remain dedicated to the ongoing collaboration that will bring the entire estate to fruition."

The Kings Forest estate spans 869 hectares and, upon completion, will provide homes for over 11,000 people. It will include a central park, retail centre, school, service station, sporting fields and the development will support the delivery of over 70,000 trees.
“We have laid the first 100 metres of asphalt on the estate, marking an important milestone of the development,” Mr Ell said.
Mayor of Tweed Shire Chris Cherry emphasised the significance of Kings Forest as a pivotal location to deliver new and affordable housing within the Tweed Shire.
"Release of the first residential blocks is important to address the substantial demand for housing, particularly in light of the increasing demand for healthcare workers expected from the opening of the new Tweed Valley Hospital at Kingscliff in May 2024. We look forward to many more homes becoming available here in the near future," Cr Cherry said.
Leda has appointed Colliers to sell the first 145 lots of its Kings Forest housing development as the company looks to deliver new land supply to the burgeoning Tweed-Gold Coast region, with a focus on putting locals first.
Colliers Director of Residential, David Higgins said they were excited to be appointed to sell houses in the Kings Forest development and were eager to show prospective buyers all that the project has to offer.
“This project signifies a huge step forward for supply of much needed housing and actual land opportunities to the northern New South Wales and Southern Gold Coast regions from a developer with a proven track record of delivery,” Mr Higgins said.
“The project aims to create residential living opportunities for individuals and families who have roots in the local community, ensuring they have the opportunity to stay connected and contribute to the continued growth of the area.”
Colliers Director of Residential, Jon Rivera said they were excited to join forces with Leda on this much awaited project which will offer some of the best flat land opportunities for eager local buyers looking to get a foot into the market.
“Kings Forest is expected to be one of the largest and most significant projects for new housing and employment in the region in the next 25 years.
“The estate is situated only 15 minutes from Gold Coast Airport, right near the new Tweed Hospital and five minutes from the coastal village of Kingscliff,” Mr Rivera said.
“Our collaboration aims to introduce a fresh perspective to the market, capturing the essence of community needs, demonstrating this to be more than just a residential project, but a place to call home.”
