Media Hunt announces interstate, NZ expansion
Leading Australian property media specialist Media Hunt has announced a strategic expansion into Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.
Founder and Managing Director Steve Hunt made the announcement today and said the company would expand its footprint in 2022 due to demand for its services from business and development groups operating in these markets.

Media Hunt, founded in 2005, has a stable of clients that includes Iris Capital, one of Australia’s leading property and hospitality investment groups with a multi-billion workbook of projects and assets, Tasman Holiday Parks (backed by Tasman Capital) which has just concluded a $300 million capital raise and purchased holiday parks throughout Australasia, and a range of private development entities, and Mulpha, owner of Hayman Island, Sanctuary Cove and the InterContinental hotel chain.
The company represents clients with more than $50 billion in assets throughout Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
It has launched projects to the tune of more than $20 billion in 2021 alone, including Iris Capital’s $1 billion V&A project at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast and purchase of Lasseters Hotel and Casino in Alice Springs; Tasman Capital’s recent acquisitions, the announcement of Hayman villas; the launch of the $1.2 billion Imperial Square on the Gold Coast, and a range of other private developments.
Its clients include Sanctuary Cove, Hirsch and Faigen – a Melbourne based company with a $1 billion development portfolio and with wine and horse racing interests – Sammut Group, one of Sudney’s leading private development companies, Colliers International, Urbis and a raft of private companies across the eastern seaboard.
Media Hunt is headed by Steve Hunt, an award-winning journalist whose has worked with News Corp, the ABC and Australian Associated Press over the last 30 years, and is based on the Gold Coast.
The company’s video production and television news arm is headed by Sean Lawson, one of Queensland’s most well-known TV personalities and journalists.
In early 2022, Media Hunt will launch Fiji’s first resort project since the pandemic began which will be targeted at investors looking to explore opportunities in one of the world’s most idyllic locations.
The company has engaged key stakeholder in New Zealand, Mr Jeff Roberts, to oversee the Media Hunt operation in NZ and oversee the company’s corporate operations.
Mr Roberts has an extensive background in investment and finance internationally. Based in Auckland, he advises several leading companies in managing and developing their assets. He is an advisor to Energy Fiji Ltd, the national energy company of Fiji.
Mr Roberts said he was looking forward to expanding Media Hunt’s NZ footprint.
