Mosaic consolidates its $175 million expansion into the Sunshine Coast

MOSAIC Property Group has consolidated its $175 million-plus expansion into the Sunshine Coast by opening a new office in the heart of Maroochydore.The 394sqm office on Duporth Avenue will initially be home to approximately 12 full-time staff of the Brisbane-based developer. Mosaic Property Group is currently rolling out a pipeline of five luxury boutique apartment projects across the Sunshine Coast, with further plans to expand into the region thereafter.Whilst Mosaic has had a smaller presence on the coast for many years now given its two founding directors live and have raised families on the coast, the new Mosaic office is a positive step forward for the multi award winning group.The office will include Mosaic’s high-end display suite for potential buyers to get a taste of the level of luxury, quality and finishes that Mosaic uses in its projects.Heading up the local sales team will be Mosaic’s regional sales manager Marcus Muir who brings with him broad property sales experience across a number of developments on the Sunshine Coast.The Buderim local has worked exclusively with Sunshine Coast developers over almost a decade, and is particularly skilled in off-the-plan sales.The Mosaic Sunshine Coast team will include staff from sales, construction, contract administration, property management and interior design.Mosaic Property Group Managing Director Brook Monahan said the establishment of the regional office and the recent promotion of Mr Muir reflected the company’s long-term commitment to the Sunshine Coast.“It was always going to happen for Mosaic given our significant pipeline of projects in the region,” Mr Monahan said.“It was really important for us to have our local team operating efficiently and effectively from a well-resourced and easily accessible base.“This lays the foundation for the coming years by ensuring we have a strong and stable presence in this key growth region.”Mosaic has already launched its second project on the Sunshine Coast, the $23 million Solis at Kings Beach, following the sell-out of apartments at Cyan, which is under construction, also at Kings Beach.Mr Monahan said Mosaic’s existing and forthcoming projects across the region would pump almost $95 million into the Sunshine Coast economy in the near term.He also said Mosaic’s developments in the region would: create 635 direct and indirect full-time equivalent jobs – including almost 400 on the Sunshine Coast; generating $33 million in wages and salaries for local workers; and providing a $200 million boost to Queensland’s construction industry.The Mosaic leasing deal was negotiated by veteran commercial agent David C Smith of Ray White Commercial Noosa and Sunshine Coast North.Mr Smith said Mosaic snapped up the lease after it was just weeks on the market and it now plans to undertake an extensive refurbishment of the property.“The work being planned will transform the building into a modern office and enhance its street appeal,” Mr Smith said.The property, developed by Sunshine Coast business identity Cliff Butt, formerly housed two tenancies, including a TAB. Mr Smith originally secured the TAB lease on the property more than a decade ago.“This Duporth Avenue property comes with a very long history as it was the first telephone exchange and post office for the area,” said Mr Smith.“It was even a general store at one stage, so it’s great to see these premises now entering a new era as Mosaic Property Group’s new Sunshine Coast office.”
