Villa World's $300m Arundel Springs community secures top award

Villa World has taken out a prestigious award at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Queensland Awards for Excellence for its spectacular $300 million Arundel Springs community.The developer secured the excellence award in the residential subdivision category for its project on the Gold Coast where the company was founded more than 30 years ago.The award comes only weeks after the company was de-listed from the Australian stock exchange after being purchased by Avid Property Group.Arundel Springs is one of Villa World’s fastest selling projects comprising 306 residential lots and 87 townhomes complete with an award-winning conservation area.Villa World general manager of sales and marketing Robyn Valmadre said the Villa World team are proud to have secured the accolade for the home-grown project.“What a fitting conclusion to what has been a wonderful 30-plus year story which started on the Gold Coast and spread throughout Queensland and into the eastern seaboard states,” Ms Valmadre said.“We are absolutely delighted and it is entirely appropriate that this award recognises a wonderful community in the area where Villa World was established.“The Villa World team has worked very hard over the years to deliver high quality projects throughout Australia and there is a special significance to receive this award for a project that we launched on the Gold Coast only a few years ago.”The award recognises the planning and innovation involved in the development of Arundel Springs, as well as Villa Worlds collaborative approach and ability to create a well integreated community.Market acceptance of the project together with its sustainable features, urban design and the engineering solutions employed throughout also formed part of the judging criteria.The award win adds to Arundel Springs’ accolades with the community also being recognised at state level by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) earlier this year.Villa World secured the coveted award in the industry infrastructure category for its work with City of Gold Coast Council (COGCC) rejuvenating a once forgotten part of the Coombabah conservation area adjacent to Arundel Springs.The area which was once subject to illegal dumping and landfill has been transformed into urban wilderness of open space and waterways.Arundel Springs features parks, an oval, walking and cycling tracks, exercise and play zones and is part of Villa World’s Active8 communities which promote healthy and active living.The community is ideally located within a 10-minute drive from Westfield Helensvale, A.B.
