MAIDMENT GROUP CLAIMS NATIONAL HONOUR FOR MARINA RESIDENCES

Private Townsville developer, Maidment Group has secured a landmark victory at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) National Awards, with Stage One of Marina Residences crowned boutique project of the year, cementing its place among Australia’s most exceptional waterfront development.

The prestigious accolade reinforces Maidment Group’s standing as an industry leader and marks a milestone achievement for Townsville and the broader North Queensland region.

“Winning this award for Marina Residences is an incredible milestone for Maidment Group”, said Glen Maidment, Managing Director of Maidment Group.

“In 24 years of business, we’ve never taken home a national award, so to be recognised on this stage – against some of the best projects in the country – is a moment we’ll never forget.”

Located at Mariners Drive, Townsville City Marina Residences has set a new benchmark for luxury living in Townsville, with Stage One featuring eight two-level waterfront homes which overlook the picturesque Breakwater Marina.

Built by Maidment Group’s in-house building division, M Homes Townsville, each residence embraces generous proportions, high-quality finishes, and meticulous craftsmanship. Accessible by private gateway laneway, these exclusive executive homes feature private plunge pools, lift access throughout and a master bedroom which embrace the vista of the mast filled waterline.

Mr Maidment said the award reflects not just the team’s hard work but the increasing confidence in Townsville’s property market.

“This recognition shines a spotlight on Townsville and the broader North Queensland region, proving that we can deliver projects that stand alongside Australia’s finest,” said Mr Maidment.

“It’s as much a testament to the city’s growth and potential as it is to our work, and we’re proud to be part of shaping its future.

“The Townsville market is maturing and seeing a project like this come to life is something that simply wouldn’t have happened in past decades.

“To have the community support what we’re doing and to now be recognised on a national stage is an incredibly proud moment.”

With strong demand continuing, Stage Two of Marina Residences is set to commence construction in early 2025, introducing 18 waterfront apartments, with 50% already sold. Completion is expected in 2026

“We took a leap of faith with Marina Residences, and the way Townsville has embraced the project has been incredible.

“To now have it acknowledged at a national level makes it even more rewarding.

“We’re excited to build on this momentum as we move into Stage Two and continue shaping the future of luxury living in North Queensland.”
