Aniko Group plans boutique marina for No. 1 Grant Avenue

Gold Coast developer Aniko Group has lodged a development application with the city council for a series of spectacular marina berths fronting its highly successful luxury apartment development, No. 1 Grant Avenue.

The plans comprise 16 marina berthsof between 12 and 15 metres located along the Hope Island waterfront.

The berths will provide direct andbridge-free access to the Broadwater, providing suitable moorings for largervessels.

Aniko Group managing director GeorgeMastrocostas said the berths are a perfect fit for the No. 1 Grant Avenue developmentwhich is proving popular among lifestyle buyers, edging the project’s sales pastthe 70 per cent level.

“Waterfront living is what HopeIsland is all about, and the marina berths will complement our vision at No. 1Grant Avenue as the ultimate resort-style residence,” he said.

The marina berths release also plansto cater for growing demand for mooring facilities in south-east Queensland.

“There’s been an explosion of watercraftownership over the past 10 years and the Gold Coast is at the centre of thatwith some of the state’s busiest boat ramps,” said Mr Mastrocostas.

“Marina berths will appeal to bothinvestors and avid boaties who understand the true value and convenience of awell-located marina berth.”

MrMastrocostas said many apartment buyers at the $140 million No. 1 Grant Avenue projecthave expressed interest with seven ofthe 16 marina berths already selling pending council approval.

“Many of our buyers choose to liveat Hope Island because it’s within easy access to some of Australia’s bestprotected waterways, so this is the next step for them.

“We also believe the broader market hasan appetite for a premium offering such as this.”

Aniko’s marina berth release comeson the heels of plans to significantly expand the Gold Coast Marine Precinct atnearby Coomera, cementing its position as the premier destination in the SouthPacific to service recreational vessels.

The expansion plans by The Boat Worksand Gold Coast City Marina are worth a combined $200 million. The work will notonly boost capacity for repair and maintenance facilities, but also create anew social and entertainment precinct with a boutique shopping and dining experiencethat will highlight the precinct as an attraction in its own right.

The 2016 Census shows more than250,000 recreational watercrafts were registered in Queensland, accounting forone vessel for every 19 Queenslanders.

Marina berths at No. 1 Grant Avenue areto be priced from $60,000 to $85,000.
