Buyers snap up $39m worth of island living at Chevron One
Demolition has started on the five Gold Coast Chevron Island blocks that will become home to a new $260 million luxury apartment tower. On the back of a stellar sales run, developer Bensons Property Group plans to start construction on the 40-level Chevron One early next year.Bensons Managing Director Rick Curtis said strong interest and buyer activity meant the project had now sold $39 million worth of residences since the launch in March.Just minutes from the heart of Surfers Paradise, the arts-inspired luxury tower will be built on a prime eastern Chevron Island site, at 36-44 Stanhill Drive. The 2627sqm block faces the city’s iconic skyline and is just metres from the bridge linking Surfers Paradise. The vast majority of buyers have been owner-occupiers, attracted by resort-style amenity, the location close to Chevron Island’s vibrant local shops and dining options, yet also a short stroll to the liveliness of Surfers Paradise and the beach. The tower will comprise 247 apartments in one, two, three and four-bedroom designs, with the building’s wave-inspired architecture created by design firm Marchese Partners.Views will include the Surfers Paradise skyline, ocean, Nerang River or the hinterland – depending on location within the tower. Prices range from $455,000 for one-bedroom apartments through to $3.25 million for the four-bedroom residences.Mr Curtis said Chevron One offered a new level of sophistication and luxury on the doorstep of the city’s famed tourism and entertainment hub and its emerging $365 million arts and cultural precinct – Home of the Arts (HOTA), at Evandale.“We’re seeing the city setting itself up for a golden era of growth and Chevron Island is on the cusp of playing its role in this transformation,” he said.“Bensons looks for vibrant and amenity-rich inner-city locations where people want to live, and Chevron Island has more to offer than most.“It’s home to a thriving local village, yet it’s close to this amazing and extensive arts precinct on the doorstep of iconic Surfers Paradise. Chevron One will embrace that village vibe and enhance it further.”Extensive resident facilities at Chevron One will include indoor and outdoor pools, a barbecue area, al fresco dining, gym, yoga and sculpture garden, outdoor cinema, residents’ lounge and bicycle racks. Each apartment offers seamless indoor-outdoor living spaces and contemporary finishes such as stone benchtops, timber floors and luxury bathrooms.Internationally-acclaimed celebrity chef Shannon Bennett has thoughtfully designed the luxury kitchens, with his vision including elegant stone benchtops, integrated Miele appliances, generous storage and room to make entertaining a pleasure.A display suite is now open from 12pm-6pm weekdays and 11am-4pm weekends at 42 Stanhill Drive, Chevron Island.
