GDI Group unveils luxury Main Beach apartments

Moments from the sandy shores of Main Beach, an uber contemporary tower is set to rise and take it to a new stunning benchmark in beachside living.

The award-winning company GDI Group, headed by long-time Gold Coast developer Dean Gallagher, has unveiled plans for an opulent 27-storey collection of masterfully crafted, high-end apartments beside the vibrant Tedder Avenue precinct.

Drift Residences is designed with a focus on lifestyle seekers looking to immerse themselves in a coastal ambience that moves with the tide and offers a new calibre of luxury living.

It will create a new highwater mark in the resurgence of the prestigious and idyllically positioned Main Beach precinct, tucked between the shimmering Broadwater to the north and the bright lights of Surfers Paradise to the south.

Enhancing the distinctive charm of the neighbourhood, the inspired vision of Drift Residences sets the scene for a new era for the well-established but re-energised beachside hub. Drawing inspiration from the coastal landscape, these exceptional residences will cultivate a sophisticated living experience, cutting-edge design and premium amenity.

Earmarked for a 1062sqm site at 16-18 Hughes Avenue, this curated sanctuary will provide an elevated lifestyle and haven of wellbeing for the residents of its timeless and generously proportioned living spaces.

Drift’s exclusive lifestyle offering will comprise a collection of three-bedroom, three-bathroom ‘Residences’ each spanning 262sqm (only two apartments per floor), as well as five four-bedroom, four-bathroom full-floor ‘Penthouse Collection’ residences each spanning 531sqm.

All the apartments exude laidback sophistication, featuring their own outdoor dining and BBQ areas, butler’s pantries, media rooms, wine cupboard/cellar and powder rooms.

Topping the tower two levels will be ‘The Penthouse’ – a palatial five-bedroom, five-bathroom mega-residence in the sky spanning 1019sqm, with its own magnificent private roof terrace and pool deck – set to become one of the most envied high-rise addresses on the Gold Coast.

Drift will also boast a ‘Wellbeing Centre’ complete with a spectacular infinity pool, sauna, steam and massage rooms, spa, cold therapy pool, health club, yoga room, lounge with fireplace and outdoor BBQ dining area.

“Our vision for Drift Residences has grown from a desire to create a timeless and enduring building that reflects the beauty and prestige of its Main Beach surrounds and will be admired for generations to come,” GDI Group managing director Dean Gallagher said.

“The planning stage, realised in collaboration with Plus Architecture, has been meticulous.

“Our focus on prioritising both luxury and wellbeing has seen the emergence of an innovative design that optimises the comfort of its inhabitants.”

“We are proud to unveil a design that resembles a new level of luxury and share yet another beautiful project with the Gold Coast. Drift Residences will provide all the convenience you’d expect from a home in the suburbs, but with one clear advantage, unprecedented views and prime location,” said Danny Juric, Director of Plus Architecture.

Such is the allure of Drift’s spectacular design and integrated lifestyle elements, Mr Gallagher is planning to up stumps and take up residence in one of the new tower’s apartments himself.

“Drift Residences will set a new Gold Coast benchmark for intuitive design,” he said.

“I look forward to personally taking up residence in this remarkable building and seeing it fulfill its promise as the epitome of a Main Beach lifestyle.”

Drift Residences will be marketed by Deborah Provost, of DP Project Marketing which has been involved in some of the city’s major landmarks over the last 25 years.

Ms Provost said the project would target discerning, lifestyle-seeking downsizers and luxury holiday home buyers.

“We believe Drift Residences will set a benchmark for Main Beach that appeals to the luxury downsizer,” she said.

“We believe our market will come predominantly from local and Brisbane downsizers and undoubtedly from interstate markets when the borders re-open.”

Drift is GDI Group’s latest residential venture and follows the success of its $55 million, 100-plus apartment Varsity Waters development at Varsity Lakes.

Established for more than 30 years, the company has developed a diverse and substantial portfolio of projects across all sectors throughout Queensland’s southeast corner. Among its current pipeline is a retail/commercial precinct in Toowoomba, where it also has been involved in land subdivision and residential developments.

Dean Gallagher is a second-generation developer and builder who is passionate about innovative, purpose-driven design and is the driving force behind GDI Group’s core philosophy of exceeding industry expectations and creating outstanding environments where people thrive.
