Over $50 million in sales on the weekend of launch

A luxury beachfront project launchedat the weekend has sold almost 80 per cent of its apartments and achieved morethan $50 million in sales in one of the best sales results ever achieved forthe launch of a project on the Gold Coast.

Sales staff had to contend withqueues of prospective buyers for the launch of Brisbane-based Spyre Group’s $77million Natura project launched on the Burleigh Heads Esplanade on Saturday.

By Sunday afternoon, only eight ofthe 33 luxury, three bedroom apartments – priced from $1.85 million - remainedfor sale in a stunning sales run that confirms Burleigh Heads as one ofAustralia’s premier beachfront hotspots.

“This has been unbelievable,” saidNick Clydsdale, Director of CBREResidential Projects Gold Coast, which is marketing the project.

“We have never seenanything like this. We had people queueing up early on Saturday morning toplace deposits on apartments.

“By Sunday afternoon we only hadeight left with sales well in excess of $50 million.”

Mr Clydsdale, originally fromSydney, said he had never seen such a strong sellout in a lifestyle market.

“This type of sellout or nearsellout was relatively common during the boom in the capital markets but I’venever seen this in a lifestyle market,” he said.

Spyre Group’s launch comes in themidst of an incredible renaissance of Burleigh Heads which has more than $1billion in development acvitity either planned or underway – including morethan $500 million in residential development.

Mr Clydsdale said Natura had tappedinto a growing cohort of lifestyle buyers homing in on Burleigh Heads.

“The thing that doesn’t surprise usis that all of these apartments are three bedrooms with no more than twoapartments per floor and these are very hard to find in Burleigh Heads,” hesaid.

“We’ve been well aware of the highdemand from interstate and local downsizers for this type of product and SpyreGroup has been very keen to get this project into the marketplace as soon aspossible.

“Our buyers comprise predominantlylocal owner occupiers from Burleigh or surrounding Gold Coast suburbs tradingup, with around 30 per cent coming from interstate through our existing database network and who understand the value that this project and location represents.”

Natura will rise 17 levels on a 1,011sqm site located at 112The Esplanade – the site of a current mid-level apartment project launched byMimi Macpherson, the sister of Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson some yearsago.

The building will be demolished tomake way for the new tower and construction is set to begin in 10 weeks.

Natura is Spyre Group’s third GoldCoast project, following on from its $79 million Elysian Broadbeach tower, which is nearing completion, and the$25 million boutique Maya Kirra Beach which is due for completion mid-year.

Apartments will deliver 211sqm ofliving space, including functional balconies with room for residents to entertainand enjoy the Gold Coast’s iconic outdoor lifestyle.

Among the unique offerings at Naturawill be a beachhouse occupying half of level one, with the other half of thelevel dedicated as a wellness and residential amenity space.

Natura will feature a range of residentialamenities that provide a leisurely, healthy and community rich lifestyle. An indoor outdoor poolencompassed in lush green surrounds, a dining area and reflexology pool areamong the proposed offerings.

The project will also include a‘wellness space’ featuring a range of movement and recovery products designedto balance the body and mind.

Natura is designed to replicate thenatural surrounds of the Burleigh Heads beachfront with a striking building designto complement the existing skyline.

MrClydsdale said Burleigh Heads was now one of Australia’s premium beachfront addresses.

“Yetthe pricing when compared to Noosa, Byron, or Sydney beaches makes the valueproposition unbelievable.”
